How to send email from any address
Email spoofing is sending an email with the sender address set to something different from the email account from which you are actually sending. The way email is currently handled on the internet makes it easy to spoof email. Spammers love to do this, so they can send email from all kinds of addresses they don't actually control, which helps their spam email sneak through spam filters. However, email spoofing can also be a handy tool for legitimate users.
If you already have an email account, then setup a new website with a new domain, you may want to send out email from an address at your new domain. Your web host, which is hopefully PerfectWeb, can forward email addresses at your new domain to your exisiting email account. That covers the incoming part of receiving email at your new domain.
To send out email from your existing email account with the sender listed as an address at your new domain, you need to setup email spoofing. It is assumed that you are using an email client and not web based email like Yahoo or Gmail, which probably won't let you spoof email. We are providing general instructions that can be applied to most email clients. For specific instructions, consult your email program help or contact us for a consultation.
First, you will want to setup a new email account. When asked for the email address, put the new email address you want to send from. Fill in the rest of the information exactly the same as your existing email account. Look for an Advanced Settings tab or button next to the outgoing email server setting, and go there. You should find an option for providing a user name and password for the outgoing email server, and you want to fill that in with your existing email account name and password. That's all there is to it. You should now be able to use the new email account to send email from your new address. Send an email to yourself to test.
Every email has header info which shows a lot of technical info about where the email came from and how it got to you, but most people will never see it or choose to look at it. However, a web savvy user would be able to look at the email headers and figure out what account the email was really sent from (your original email account). So be aware your original email is revealed, but won't be seen by most people.
